Opinions abound in pubs by drunken fools but the facts are I use to race these things in the cccr saloons against 205's GTEs impreza's audi turbos pulsars evos Focus RS etc... Industry respected Dialynx and Owen developments can vouch how fast they can go being their own machinery was beaten by it. There far from perfect for sure but as Clarkson said "they were v v fast"

The fastest 0-60 hatch of the 80's/90's.... still fast even today. Rust was an issue as with most stuff of the era. White knuckle ride created by poor brakes and understeer... ! Even so a race version did take on evo's and imprezas at Castle Combe race circuit with some success!!
