I bought a 5.0 S 30months ago and its been utterly reliable. The cost of parts is noticeable but worth it if you buy a good one as you feel you a maintaining a worthy machine. Along with the 944 its the last decent affordable Porsche. It returns 7 km per liter of 98 octane - again not a worry as its great fun to drive, corners flat and very confidently. Huge punch for overtaking. hard to find a manual - its essentially a GT and most were sold as 4speed Autos. Despite 184,000kms the oil barely darkens between changes and the engine burns none. Value is climbing about 15% per annum. Go get one! - Jeff
