Just as far as looks go, I like the 4S better. The flared wheel arches of the 4S give it a kind of muscled look. The Turbo almost eliminates that illusion with the placement, size, and shape of the side air intakes.

According to porsche it's max 560ps figure is achieved between about 6500rpm to 6750rpm. So the engine with overboost under almost all conditions should produce ~453 lb-ft at 6500rpm (4536500/5252=560hp) Under optimal conditions it should be able keep producing that 453 lb-ft up to 6750rpm
(4536750/5252=583hp) There's your answer people.

There is no "EPA" or "Euro NCAP" for manufacturers claimed power and curb weight figures. And it is a shame.

All that creating only a chaos.
So I dont know that all Porsches power claims are "conservative": made on 4.000 meter over sea level. With bad fuel, at the hottest day. Or only 911? This question all Caymans power claims, and also maybe other models like Cayenne, Macan, Panamera? What is the point?
So we are so excited with new Caymans being so fast with only 320 hp, but maybe at the crank there is 380 of it.

There should be some regulation to check torque, power and give correct numbers.

They're being honest if you look at it from a different point of view. When they say "500PS....no matter what the conditions", it's more like "at least 500PS....no matter what the conditions".

That is true, But it's not only power that is compared, Price, Acceleration, And track performance is also considered. I would just rather company's be fully honest, Hey I'm n honest guy and like honesty.

That's absurd, just Cuz porsche claim this car has 560 hp doesn't mean people compare it to mostly 560hp cars. Just like this case, against a 600hp GTR and a 650hp Z06, and many times against a 600+hp Mclaren, huracan, ZR1.

They should just state the power as is, Not worst conditions, Oh I have 300hp when I really have 400hp and I'm being compared to the 300hp category......

Based on trap speeds and ET's of Huracan's tests mid 10s at 130+ mph, which has similar weight, gearing, awd and 610 hp, i would say porsche's power is around 600 but not more. If it were more trap speed would be more in line with the Huracan's, which it isn't. 580-600 I would say.

991 Turbo S stock has at least 600 hp crank power. At least.

Obviously it is a very, very fast car even for that ~600hp.

Porsche claimed horsepower is usually achieved at the worst possible conditions - i.e. under normal or optimal condition the 991 Turbo S is making power in the region of 580-600hp as seen by the 130 mph trap, the mid 10 1/4 mile is the result of great traction from the AWD, PDK and launch control and tyres. Besides the Huracan and Aventador SV I don't see anything coming close to this performance under 7 figure price tag cars.

Yes, sir - improved performance data added!

If you look at the earlier comments quite a long time ago, you can see that we predicted that the actual hp is much higher than advertised as soon as the car was launched.

Even Porsches own performance chief Andreas Preuninger has been using the term "Porsche horsepower" to refer to the underrated power figures that Porsche come up with, even for naturally aspirated cars.

So, yes, this car has 600 horses stock. And great transmission and the rest of the powertrain to go with those horses.

911 has a lot of torque, and is the slipperiest of most sports cars. Corvette has proven to be perhaps the least aerodynamic efficient of modern sports cars. So it getting killed in a straight line is a shocking result, but reality. And you know what, I think it's a big mistake, because drag races are more important to corvette owners than going around racetracks. It also has the mentality of the Z28, bolting on extremely wide sticky tires as oppose to using clever engineering to get the better lap times, (look how the GT3 RS got 2x the downforce keeping the same cd.)

I've said this before, the car is slower than the ZR1, period. It's much slower in a straight line. It's heavier. Bolt the same tires onto the ZR1 and it'll destroy the Z06 in every category.

Except it also gets destroyed by the gt3, gt-r, hellcat, viper.. you name it. This corvette is piece of junke and if it wasn't for those big ass semi slicks it'll be slower than a C6 z06 around corners too.

650 HP RWD Corvette did worse 60-150 mph time than 991 Turbo S ? This 991 Turbo S has to have about 620-640 hp for real to do that kind of acceleration above 60 mp/h.

wow the 911 wheelbase is 13 inches shorter than the GTR. but also means it's much more easier to manuvore in the city but less stable at highspeed corners
