I own a 1998 996. it has 130'000 miles and I've owned it for 3 months. In that time I have completed 8000 miles and the car has returned approx 24 mpg oink town and 33 on the motorway. I have had to replace a radiator, water pump and suspension arm but she is an old girl. She still hits 0-60 in 5. Power delivery is still seamless and strong. The interiors worn well and in black is still relatively modern by today's standards. For the money (£8000) there's nothing that will beat the 996 for powered, emotion and wow factor.

My 99 996 is incredibly fast, I previously owned a new 2005 350z and the porsche is faster and way more fun to drive.

0-200 is MUCH faster once the car is broken in (say 20,000 km)... 16 seconds flat

I own a 2000 996. After 6 years driving the car (inc. 3500+ track miles) it remains all the car I want. 80k miles on the odo, car drives like new. It is a beast, you can be king of the road in this car if you learn to master the tail.

Own a c2 996 2003, had a 2004 z4 3.0i there is absolutely NO WAY the porsche is slower then the bmw. No way, it is true the car is a beast.

Did this one actually beat the new 997 or was it a cruddy driver dring the 997
