A JDM only version. Until now there wasn't WRX version of the current Impreza for the Japanese market. However this aren't exactly the same WRX as used to be. It's only little weaker than the STi but it's more luxury oriented. It has the new FA20 engine like the USDM WRX but it has more power and torque. The only bad thing about this car is the gearbox: comes only with CVT, no manual. And it's a little heavy because of the luxury orientation.
If I were Subaru I would make a WRX with this engine albeit with 6 speed manual and it would be more spartan than luxury oriented so it would be lighter.

it's the same FA20DIT engine, probably has a different exhaust, and maybe intake with a different MAP.
they use 2.0l engines for the WRX STI GRC, which are typically around 550-600hp. though they used to use the EJ207's to build those, not sure about the FA20's yet (direct injection and several other differences including TGVs). but apparently they FA20DIT can do 500HP on stock internals with a few mods (esp. Water/Methanol).
frankly they should release the WRX with the STI DCCD, because thats the ONLY real feature the STI has on the WRX (the Brembos are easy to upgrade yourself, and the Engines aren't different enough - ~30hp).
the WRX is much closer to the STI then either are to the Impreza
