Viper with that big time advantage torque will absolutely jump out off the line, but ZR-1 would be right there until about 100 mph & then the Viper would say bye-bye. The ZR-1 is no slacker by any means, but the Viper has bigger balls w/ that V10 & and close ratio 6 speed tranny.

The Viper would have killed it in a stoplight match 385 tq on the Vette to 465 tq Viper, also the V10 starts hitting that peak torque at 3800 rpm while the hp keeps climbing up to 6,000 rpm.

On the track however the ZR1 might dance around the Viper! Though the Viper was made for the track the Corvette ZR1 was much more refined. I still would have loved to see them head to head! Both are amazing cars!

@Shaggy
ZR-1 received 405 hp engine since 1993.

But if you have 1993 405hp ZR-1 vs same year Viper comparison that would be even more interesting, since they would be closer in performance aspect.

@196ss: The '92 ZR-1 had 405 horsepower.

In Car & Driver March 1992 issue was short 375hp ZR1 vs 1992 Viper RT/10 comparison. Does anyone have it? Or may be someone can provide a link if it exists in internet.

Exact same 0-60 time but the Viper is a full second quicker in the 1/4 mile.

Close one but it looks like the Viper wins.
