Corvette Stingray L89 competition

ol blue, i should have told that ol blue ran in B/S class. as did the l71 and l89 i believe. Aclass times were slighty fast maybe 10.9. Aclass was mostly cobras with 2 -4barrels. ol blue ran the NHRA National 4 times, came in runner up twice. those were the good old days when a hobbyist could compete.

ol blue, jim is pretty much correct. i raced vets from 1967-thriugh 1971 to when nhra dropped the sports car class--moved vets to modified class. i ran ol blue a 427/425 1966 c2. ran in region.3 of nhra the 1/4 mile record was 11:16 at the end. i could run the record but never owned it. if memory serves me right Bo Laws owned it. i owned the speed record for a short time @ 126.8 mph Laws took from me. slightly faster--can't remember exactly. the l71s and l89 1968s 1969s never seemed nearly as quick. never saw any in 11 second range, i like there look but not there speed.

@fastestlaps please delete the topspeed of 282 kph, it is limited by gearing to 141 mph
The fastest 0-60mph, 0-100mph and 1/4 mile are for the C2 Corvette

Please move these two together

According to Wikipedia the difference is that the L89 has lighter aluminum cylinder heads
