The E on 190E stands for Einspritzpumpe. Its german for injection pump. The previous 190 model was a carburetor model.
190E is not evolution.
And this is not a picture of the usual cossy model.

@Venom. the E in 190E doesn't stand for Evolution. That would mean that the whole range of 190E models are Evolutions. There's only 2 Evolution models in the 190E range, and that's the Evo I & II

The "e" in the 190 "e" is German for fuel injected. Einspritzmotor is the exact word I believe.

I recently acquired a 1987 Mercedes 190e 2.3 (non evo, just the stock version) and it's great, one of the best cars i ever have driven. i was lucky enough to find a rare 5 speed version, and the car is a blast to drive. not the fastest car out there...yet. by next summer, im planning on finding an evo body kit, and turbo'ing the car. quite a fun car, i love it.

I know this is a old car. It was the basic for the so successfull DTM race car winning over 40times a DTM race.
Senna was testing the 190E a lot during the development. He did his first race vs Alain Prost in a 190E in 1983 during a celebration race for the reopening of the Nürburgring F1 GP track.. Prost won the quali for the 190E race.. Senna kicked him from the track in the first lap and won the race :-)
That was the begin of a never ending hate between both...
