Had a 1969 Hemi Roadrunner with a 727 Torqueflite, 4:10 Dana rear......We opened the exhaust (cast iron manifolds) , put on a pair of M&H Racemaster 7" slicks and the car ran 12.50's @ 115 MPH all day.........Carefully jetted the AFB carbs for open exhaust and got 12.0's at 119 MPH..........Had to add headers ( with lots of trial and error jetting)........11.80's @ 121 MPH. while SMOKING the little slicks....... We only added headers and 7" slicks. With some tedious carb jetting, a stock Street Hemi did all That !!!!! May I add the car weighed 4,400 lbs !

I think that this is just as awesome as it can get!!!!! I once owned a 1968 Plymouth Roadrunner that ran quite awesomely!!!!! Though it was equipped with the '383' cu. inch engine, I was often queried as to whether it was really a 'HEMI'! I loved that car so much, I think if I could I would have adopted it as my "CHILD"!
