Even though I think the C4 was a generally underwhelming generation (especially regarding build quality), this and the previous ZR-1 were a massive middle finger to the European market. It really showed that GM can make really good sports cars for a reasonable price.

Excluding the C6, I think the C4 is the best Corvette generation ever made, at least IMO.

would it be possible to put vectra chassis on undercarriage of corvette?

Talking about crazy mods... How about this - Mid engined rear wheel drive Polo diesel drag car :D
It does wheelies and everything...

I guess everyone here knows enough about cars that a Viper V10 into a oldtimer Opel engine swap is more work than a weekend job... you are right that they used the Viper chassie and put the Rekord body over it.
I claimed it only to show that everything is possible...
There are even V8 powered Golf Mk I in Germany... it was build by a car dealer in low numbers called the Artz Golf
They used a Porsche 928 and a Golf I

Slava, pripazi malo! (Slava, be careful there!)
The thing Georg didn't mention is that this "Rekord" is more than 80% Viper, actually it's more like Viper with just body panels and interior from Rekord. I presonally like such a brave tuning attempts, but wouldn't you think that C20LET does all the magic needed for a Vectra A?

Georg 15y ago
the space in the engine compartment should not be the problem... the main problem is how to get the power to the ground... the Vectra a is travers mounted engine FWD, you need to rebuild it into a RWD with a fitting tranny and rear axle... by all respect... no Opel Vectra is worth such a work...
Buy a Kadett C Coupe and turn it into a lightweight cornering monster... money much better spend in my eyes

slavacroatiacorvectra3 15y ago
wow man!....yes we have enough money to do this but still need to expand the space for the engine...is that correct?

slavacroatiacorvectra2 15y ago

A lotus/mercury marine abomination to the pushrod that has now dominated LeMans.
