Yeah they are obnoxiously over-priced. That said, strictly performance speaking there's really nothing that will touch it on a track in this price range.
Personally I'd rather the original supercharged-4cyl version with the manual.

overpriced...But ill take mine in ALL Gold. But this car loses a lot of steam after 110Mph I hear, Still though, 150k is too much, specially since you can get an Atom 3 for 28k...Don't see the price justification. Rather have a GT3..

@ Flabernat: I'd like to drive this car, at least once, just to see if I'm man enough to handle it. A hot lap in a car this powerful, this light and this intense is a great way to see what you're made of.

The things I would do to get behind the wheel of this, especially on an open track..... I love TG's review, especially when it was Tiff Needell who out-raced the racing bike ^_^

I saw that crash while watching the 1999 24 hours of LeMans race, the car didn't go as high as I remembered, I thought it went over the trees and landed behind them, a door flew up and the driver walked away unharmed. I'll bet he had to change his underwear. XD

Scaffolding with lots of plastic stuck to it and an engine (also can remove Jeremy Clarkson's face) in about 5 years I could build one! Still bags of fun though.

This car is sooooo lame, you cant drive it anywhere without a helmet, over a bump, or in the rain, or you will be killed. Not to mention if you have a crash. It has a 500 bhp/ton And yet it is just as fast a Mclaren MP4-12C around a track, a car that can be driven anywhere. I know its great for the track but its NOT a road car and I hate how they advertise it as such.

Autocar tested this car with 2 people on board 0-60 in 3.02 sec...
60mph in 2.3sec seems a bit ambitious, but the effect of 75/80kg extra in a car that weights 650kg with fuel ready to run is quite big.
So i'd say 2.8 to 60mph is surely possible.

those 3.4kph can be done in 0.1s, if there's no gear change between them

But the Atom gets to 63mph in 1st so the difference would be around 0.1s from the 0-60 and 0-62mph...
Anyway 0-100 in 2.3 is too optimistic, Autocar got to 60mph in "only" 3s

So: 100-96.6 = 3.4 kph difference. Do you really think they need 0.3-0.5 seconds for another 3.4 kph?!

Well, if 100 kph is achived in 2.3, then 3.4 kph would be in less than 0.1 of a second.

In conclusion, 0-60 mph is quite the same as 0-100 kph.
