That is a piss-poor 1/4-mile result for 523 horsepower especially with such low weight. Did they test the US-spec model? I bet that thing was heavier by like 500-600 pounds.

Quattroporte GTS competition

@FL
Of course you do, your more retro then me-_-
the rims on this car, like Mental said, are highly mismatched, tiny rims on such a big car does not do it justice, the ones from the white pic are much better, but Imo, a car like this needs to get 20'+, along with a lower ride height and bigger rims make every car look better.
I don mind the 80s style, a "Few" good things came from the 80s, but not rims and wheel design, the Interior is the onlt good thing to come out of this new version, well engine too.

BR2, couldn't disagree with you more on the wheels.
They are amazing! They make the car look twice as special and twice as expensive.
Yes, they have retro 80s feel to them, but i think they are amazing.
It's thanks to the large rim diameter that we nowadays see that design like this is made possible - it's almost like "rim inside a rim" - the seven spoke "star" like inner section, which itself is as big as 15", is enclosed in this outer rim that reminds me of 70-80 Porsche racing cars rims.

Those V6 rims are Incredibly Hidious...Disgusting, this aint the 80s, in terms of exterior looks, they absolutley Ruined my all time favorite 4-door car, im appauled, the front, Ghastly, the rear isnt too bad, and its too long. the interior is nice, and i like the engine better, but nit the gearbox. But shame on Maserati..

Autocar tests new Quattroporte vs Jaguar XJ.
LOOK AT THOSE WHEELS!!!
The best new rim design since.... since I can remember...

About Quattroporte's exterior/interior. The front end has become pretty better, but what a strange shape of the headlights! The side view is too long, the rear seems to be ruined and rip-offed (it damn so much reminding me something I don't remember), and the rims are just horrible! But the interior is nice and looks very comfort.
Eh, but the main problem - all that disadvantages I listed make this car something not reminding mafia... Not that feelings... Now it's more kinda women's saloon. And that's pity.

The new VI Quattroporte. And I have to say I'm more disappointed than excited.
Now it's a huge 5 meter machine, but I wonder it weights less than the previous QP weighed.
Now it uses 3.8 liter TwinTurbo (basic QP - 3.0 turbo V6 407 hp), and that's kinda "fail" IMO. What's a Maserati without a huge naturally aspirated engine? But it seeing it produces 530 PS and 650 Nm... woooh that's a lot! And you can see the results:
http://www.autocar.co.uk/car-review/first-drives/first-drive-review-maserati-quattroporte-v8
Top speed - 191 mph (306 kph) and 0-62 in 4.7 s! And that's a huge Maserati saloon!
The tech aspect tech is revolutionary in comparison to the previous QP! But I'll miss the sound of n/a V8.
