I really like cars of this era, naturally aspirated engines engines without electric assist. These are two of my favorite supercars. I would have a hard time deciding between them.

''Italian Magazine QuattroRoute... ''
Wrong. 400m speed exit is from Automobile magazine (US magazine), other values are from Auto magazine (Italian)

@supercharger Granted the lp570 is a top range model but price wise its much closer to the Ferrari than the lp560 so if you were buying one of the two this is the closest comparison. The 458 Challenge is way more expensive and they cut out a lot of the interior to save weight making it into more of a track car while the Lamborghini is still well suited for road and track like the base 458.

@Hermes2
The 458 tested by TopGear US at El Toro was not stock.
Then the Superleggera also kind of lost the comparison at Nardo Handling Course Conf 2 (2.8 km) where it simply broke down...
In the most relevant direct comparison on Nordscleife by pro Sascha Bert the 458 won by 7.8 s.
Overall the 458 wins by 0.2% on dry track and by 4.7% on wet track.

Hermes2 15y ago
It's now 5 wins each. If the wet track is taken out, the LP570 leads 5 to 4 wins for the 458 :)

After the Chris Harris expose, I find it hard to believe that Ferrari is really as fast in real life as they are in the magazine tests. The car is still seriously good but I doubt it is really faster than the competition.

Lamborghini shape is much better.
Lamborghini is the dream car, Ferrari has better name that\'s all.

very nice comparo of lp570 vs f458. cars were driven on track but no lap time in the article

OOOH NO! THE 458 is being recalled for catching on FIRE!! Appears to be a simple fix. I\'ll still wait and get a 2011 model year though:)

I was not expecting the Gallardo to win the 0-300kph dash. What a car! I was expecting the LP570 to win only the 0-100kph then lag later due to the higher mechanical friction of AWD. I will be happy with either car but the LP570 looks better to me so it wins if I had to buy one.
Given the similarity in size, weight, price and availability, there is nothing against comparing these two. Strictly speaking, the Gallardo is half a product cycle late compared to the corresponding Ferrari V8s. So the most comparable car is the 458 against the next gen Gallardo which comes after the LP560.
Who cares about that today however, so let\'s just compare what is out there now.
