S4 Avant competition

Actually none of them do, C&D, MotorTrend, Road&Track, Edmunds, Automobile, They all use everyday surfaces, MTs is the only one that resembles a strip, Same place where they measure there slalom n braking along with there Figure 8 track, When they happen to do a video featuring a strip, They don't include it in the actual performance data

Its great for a 40k estate car, But not really surprising or amazing considering how good an Audi launch is.
Also the 2002 RS6 did 0-60mph in 4.2s, And that was 14 years ago, So i wouldnt call it amazing in anyway, Its great that there able to, Although i dont really see a point in this type of car, But great nontheless.
I also have no doubt this is pushing 400Bhp, Its an Audi.
@FL
MotorTrend doesnt use a dragstrip, They use parking lot tarmac.

I think its just very exciting that a stock S4 Avant (the family vagon for God's sake!) does 4.7 0-100 kph. That means 0-60 in about 4.6 (most likely even better in Motortrend tests on a dragstrip). That was Porsche 911 Carrera S territory not that long ago.
This is thanks to several factors:
1.) Super strong forced induction engines with very steep and flat torque curve - power comes early
2.) 4 wheel drive with very efficient transmission with narrow gear ratios, because of the sheer number of ratios - no less than 8
3.) Lighter powertrain in general. Everything is lighter, from the engine to the gearbox and 4 wheel drive system.
But I guess this is what you have to come up with, if you want to play in the performance sedan/wagon market during the advent of electric cars and efficient and fast diesels, as well as hybrids.
These turbo powertrains in combination with dual clutch gearboxes are really the best of internal combustion that we will ever get. After that its all electric and will be better in every way (once battery tech improves even more).

Super performance. 4.7 to 100 kph. Faster than the old RS6 Plus.
Brand new engine, turbocharged, not supercharged. 14 kilograms lighter.
