In 1985 8.6 seconds was fast. Only V8's and expensive Euros were faster. The thing that should be considered it the torque to weight ratio. 215 /1000 kg. That is good even by todays standards. I have a new suzuki swift sport with 230 nm and 970kg wet weight. 36 years later this is almost identical.
