I've never seen an Evora.
And I consider it sad that Lotus have stopped making them.
I've seen Exiges and Esprits alright.

Mike87 TT-RS is nearly € 80.000,-- only with leather, metallic and bucket seats.

that is utterly BS...
base price
TT-RS 56,950Euro
leather standart
sport seats standart
Recaro bucket seats in leather 2,855Euro
metalic paint 650Euro

= 60,455Euro 20.000less than u claim

sportauto tested

Evora S
Pirelli P Zerro Corsa
semi slicks

TT-RS
Conti Sport Contact
normal street tires

as tested by sportauto semi slicks (Dunlop) improve the laptime at the TT by 2seconds compared to normal street tires...

Beating a 997 turbo which has much better power to weight ratio in a non direct comparison... even better result!

Beating a 997 mkII carrera in a direct comparisson with an identical power to weight ratio... decent result!

@woooo

seriously CAN´T YOU READ?
I wrote price as tested by sportauto... not base price

the rest of your comment is uterly BS... I wrote that you get a Nissan GTR a 1:10.7min car for the price of the Evora S tested by sportauto...as we all know the Nissan GTR is NOT a german .... your turn Mr lack in serious facts..

User avatar

w0o0dy  14y ago

@Georg: the price difference is incorrect.. a TT-RS is at least 57k but the Evora S is 70k in standard trim. Sad how you always try to compare pears and apples when it comes to non german cars... You cannot take the gain for a focus rs with semi slicks as 100% the same for another car. It depends on the difference between the standard tyre vs the semi-slicks for that car and the level of grip you begin with. But you don't care, you just think "not german..." and then the thinking stops.

@wOoOdy

you claim it clearly beat the TT-RS (1.1s) means pretty damn good handling (of the Evora S)

later you agree that it won 1.0s because of tires and brake...
belive me that factor is much bigger...
I drive Bridgstone Potenza RE050A on my car in 245/35 they are far away from semi slick performance for sure!

you claim great price..
the sportauto tested Evora S was 87,615Euro... thats over 30,000more than a TT-RS..
Thats Nissan GT-R money a 1:10.7min 2+2 car...
for that money you can buy TT-RS + A4 2.0TSI, or 2 x Nissan 370Z + new Micra, Cayman R + big holiday, 911 Black Edition, CTS-V Coupe..thats far away from cheap.

Pretty damn sure the TT-RS on Pirelli P Zero Corsa will beat the Evora S easy(would that make it a even better handling car?)! Switching to semi slicks improves the laptime more than 1s at Hockenheim at 300hp + cars!
example Focus RS ...with standart tires 1:17.8min with Toyo semi slicks 1:16.6min a 1.2s improvment on the same car and track.. only by the tire..

Handling is a subjective attribute. What one determines to be good handling, others may find to be poor handling.

That being said, good "balance" can be considered a good handling attribute and a well balanced car often runs more consistent and easier quick lap times.

User avatar

w0o0dy  14y ago

@Georg: I seriously doubt it could win 0,5sec with the better braking and most cars mentioned use tyres that are not far away from semi-slicks. They might have a little more profile and might be a little harder but Bridgestone RE50 or Michelin Pilot sport are extremely grippy.. Lets say the Evora wins another 0,5 seconds because of the tyres... I stay with great result for a car with the picetag and comfort of the Evora s. They could make a more track focussed version and it would kick the asses of most mentioned sportscars, but this one is not. If getting faster laptimes requires better brakes then what are Porsche, Audi and Bmw wating for?

User avatar

Georg  14y ago

@woody

good laptimes are not always the result of good handling!
As claimed the Evora S combination of Pirelli P Zerro Corsa semi slicks + AP brake were good for a 12.90m/s² deceleration at the Ameisenkurve..the hardest brake point at the short track..
A old racers claim...races are won on the brake ...
A look at the laptimesheet between the Evora S and other cars the turn speeds WITH semi slicks are only as high as other cars on normal sport tires.. but the maximum brake perfromance is a other class..there the Evora S won the time..

sportcars reach at the Ameisenkurve 11.XX m/s² deceleration... with extremly good brakes they reach 12.0-12.4m/s² the Evora S reached 12.9m/s²

Cayman R 12.2m/s²
Artega GT 12.2m/S²
Carrera GTS 12.3m/s²
M3 (e92) 12.0m/s²
TT-RS 11.2m/s²
R8 V10 12.4m/s²
R8 V8 12.3m/s²
Z06 11.8m/s²
GTR 12.4m/s²
370Z 10.7m/s²
Cayman S 11.9m/s²

a other extrem is the Gumpert Apollo with working dwon force semi slicks light weight it reach there 13.50m/s²

As claimed the outstanding future of the Evora S according to sportauto is the combination of the Pirelli semi slicks and the AP brake... the handling is good but not outstanding..big disapointment is the transmission

User avatar

w0o0dy  14y ago

@georg: it has less hp/tonne than the 911 GTS, R8 V8/V10, Cayman R, BMW M3 (e92) and Bmw CSl, yet it is faster of very close to all of these cars... must be a very good handling car then, since each and every one of these cars is known to handle well.
This is nothing like a hardcore track car, its a 2+2 (if you want), its comfortable and one of the cheapest cars to offer this level of performance.

User avatar

Georg  14y ago

@woody
The Evora S was on Pirelli P Zero Corsa semi slicks and reached in combination with the AP brakes race car like deceleration ...
The handling numbers were good but not outstanding..

User avatar

w0o0dy  14y ago

Very good laptime, especially considering it has 241bhp/tonne and 2+2 seating... The only cars that come close to this (for the money) are the Artega GT, Cayman R and the Audi TT-rs and it clearly beats the Audi TT-RS... pretty damm good handling then.
