Top Speed 2023 Tour de Force is the McLaren 720S Spider!
The 720S locked out the Top Five and look at the difference in speeds around 14MPH compared to the new car.
Still a slayer.🙂

So, leave them alone. Not all Captain Slow's.

Now I know these Autocar figures are recorded above. But when you see them grouped TOGETHER their impact is far more impressive and powerful! I was busy last night!~
0-60MPH= 2.73 seconds
0-100MPH= 5.35 seconds
1/4 mile= 10.2 seconds @143.9MPH
1/2 mile= 15.87 seconds @171.25MPH!
VBox GPS verified.
That's very quick! The McLaren beat a 2019 BMW motorcycle so make absolutely sure you understand this! And remember the convertible weighs 49KG more more than the standard McLaren 720S coupe.
Can it possibly go faster? The coupe? Well, yes it HAS X2!😯

Mclaren 720S 0-300-0km/h
Hahahahahahaha! Funny the things you find in cross referencing and benchmarking. Skill?
Anyway>
0-100 km/h= 2.7 seconds
0-200 km/h= 7.2 seconds
0-300 km/h= 19.4 seconds
300-0 km/g= 6 seconds (circa measured)
0-300-0 km/h= 25.4 seconds
And the 0-300km/h time is high!
This car CONTINUALLY surprises!
Also add 195.469MPH in the 1 mile! That same car topped out at 215.211MPH not this one. Source McLaren Life the owner.
And I just checked on Autotrader U.K. they are UNDER £150,000 ****ing hell!

This is an English website I use to calculate power to weight ratios. It makes it a little easier.

Accordingly to speed calculations that I've refined the Mclaren 720S without it's apparent limiter with 707rwhp 0.36 c/d (assumed from previous MP4 12C and 650S) and 2161mm width and 1196 mm height X86% (Kyles Engineers frontal area calculations.Youtube) = 23.925 sq ft frontal area plus weight etc =
226.40MPH which is entirely possible. Theoretically that is.
Nice.

The dual clutch transmission ratios and final drive are good for OVER 300MPH.
I already new this as we've previously done some work on the Mclaren Speedtail. I used the Mclaren 720S gearing ratios from Car and Driver Magazine and used this> https://www.boosttown.com/gearbox_differential/speed_calculator.php
It's the gearing calculator I used on all my validation work.
I came across when looking at figures for SSC during the Tuatara calculations.
I will say NOBODY helped me with ANYTHING and in lockdown I educated myself.
But there's TWO big pieces of my puzzle I've given out. OoO

Quote>"Speed limiter removed."
Well this makes ABSOLUTE sense. It's highly coincidental that the Mclaren 720S is claimed at 212MPH but one has achieved a VERIFIED 216.1MPH at Johnny Bohmer Proving Grounds. Another one did 215MPH. The Mclaren P1 was LIMITED electronically to around 217MPH. That's no coincidence.

I have to thank FERRARI for this because Supercars I haven't really being studying much. The 296GTB has got me back on the case!
You DON'T really need this kind of power on the road? I mean it hit TRIPLE the English motorway speed limits anyway?
LOL!

I feel that one of the main attractions of a spyder is a much bigger experience with the engine, and unfortunately the 720s' engine note is quite dull. I'd take the 570s spyder over it simply because it sounds way better and almost every bit as fast in the real world, if not faster, given that it's not quite as big to manuever
