I can imagine the RS Spyder will destroy this with ease, and the Evo variant would obliterate this

User avatar

I wonder how this car is not faster then the Porsche and lambo. Is a race car with under 600kg

I am browsing your web site for the first time. Perhaps you can help me with specific basic information:
1. Are any of these cars street legal in California? Can I drive one to the track?
2. Cost or price range

@NIN

I think the T1 would win too, But hard to say by how much, The Mono would lose, The Atom 500 would lose, The RST would lose, But I wonder if the Mirebeua could take both?..(I may actually think it could..)

IMO, the T1 would beat the SR8 if both cars had a full team of factory mechanics

That is if the T1 will start and make it through the lap. In a full race, the SR8 will finish at ease, and the T1 will be on the roadside

User avatar

NIN  12y ago

According to the driver who ran the 1:10.8 on the T1...

"Even two-up it would have obliterated the current record."

@ Hayes

The issue with cars like these is that setup is so important because these cars are so fine tuned for the track. Whichever car is set up better for that particular track with a particular driver will be faster.

IMO, the T1 would beat the SR8 if both cars had a full team of factory mechanics and the same amount of setup time (tailored to suit 1 amazing driver).

Too bad we'll never know.....:(

I don't think the GTR should go in this category, It will lay waste to them in acceleration, But not round a track, But whatever happened to Ultima attempting there goal of 6:54 at The Ring?..

User avatar

Mental  12y ago

The race of Radical SR8 LM-vs-Ultima GTR 720-vs-Caparo T1 for the title of the "fastest road-legal vehicle" would be the most exciting automotive challenge. It would also be interesting them to compare with the new "HyperHybrid 3". That would be a hell of a battle!

User avatar

Hayes  12y ago

@NIN good point but the radical also had a passenger so it may have gone faster without one. All we can say is that the radical is faster with a passenger than the caparo. Therefore, I admit that it maybe actually quite tight between it and the caparo

User avatar

NIN  12y ago

@ Hayes

The Bedford laptime for the T1 is actually 1:10.8 but that time was done without a passenger. All of the other EVO Bedford times are with a passenger.

User avatar

Hayes  12y ago

Looking at the track list, this beats all of them bar le blanc which has no laptimes

User avatar

BR2+  12y ago

Well it is practically a race car.

But id love to see this go head to have against the..

Caparo T1
LeBlanc Mirebeau
Caterham Super 7 RST-V8 Levante
Bac Mono
Ariel Atom 500 V8

Ive been wanting to see that so damned bad.

4 track records out of 4. Insane!

one more... how can this ROAD LEGAL CAR with normal road tires be fastest (by at least 2 sec) than same car with slicks (in qualification lap!!)at SPA? check by yourself...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2k7UMaZnF4k BULLSHIT......

User avatar

remengo  12y ago

Look at this....ROAD LEGAL!!!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sxUx6qi0I_k what a joke!! You have to cheat in this way if you want to be fastest, and you can do it ONLY IN ALBION......and such a comparison....what a crap!

I found these: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2mdf9VufdVU, the winner drives an Osella which is very similar to a radical, much faster but is not street legal, you can do that only in THOSE country...

User avatar

Killuminati  12y ago

It is street legal in the US, but only in a so-called "gray-market".

User avatar

Killuminati  12y ago

Other then UK, Germany and France it ain't road legal because it don't comply with EMISSION standards, especially in the U.S.

User avatar

Hayes  12y ago

@jay2013 not true. This car was driven to the nordschleife from England for the lap record. Therefore, it is road legal in France and germany

I love all styles of automobiles, but the only vehicle practical for my needs is a pick-up truck.

User avatar

Don Zauker  12y ago

Wow, how many people concerned with practicality! The funny thing is that on other pages they glorify cars with 2 seats, 200 km autonomy, the price of a house, the noise levels of a fighter plane, the comfort of a fakir bed and the yearly taxes of a small business. Truly the utmost practicality and usability a customer can desire.

User avatar

remengo  13y ago

buy one of this, make it road legal IN THE COUNTRY WHERE THIS IS POSSIBLE and get nordschleife record easily....maybe even a 30 sec less!

If you don't need a roof on a car, you must live where it never rains, I've never been to Britain, but I'm pretty sure it rains a lot there.

User avatar

BR2'  13y ago

These things are on the street all the time, many people here dont consider the 6:47 record a..record, i certainly dont, the True record holder to me is the Gumpert Apollo S, not this, and many people say the same, but whatever, the Radicals are street legal here in the UK, and EVEN in America!! :) I know right!

But again, Practicality is just a word for people who think you need what they need, Impracticality doesnt exist.

User avatar

Mental  13y ago

I can't consider such cars seriously. They are really incredibly impractical to me and almost of all people. I wouldn't survive anyhow with the Radical. Just a track toy.

@458-V8BUST

"Junk" that currently holds the Nordschleife record. I suppose these cars are "junk" too:

.fastestlaps.com/models/aston-martin-am-310-vanquish
.fastestlaps.com/models/jaguar-xkr-s

Not that you need to worry. People like you never end up in a position where they could afford cars like these.
