10 years ago, my wife asked me what my dream car was. I thought of a more "realistic dream" car, and I said the m135i. 320hp, RWD, practical, easy to get around the city with and even has 5 doors. More powerful than the 335i at the time, lighter, and considerably more affordable too.

I never got the car. I got something else, but it's a car I'd recommend a lot to anyone.

Before the BMW M140i, there was the AMC Pacer

This car is perfect if you're looking for a rather cheap straight line performance car.
This 470 PS tuned example beat a brand new base M3.

i have a golf r. while i admit the m140i i followed today was a little faster on a straight road, as soon as the road got twisty i could easy pass this m140i car.the driver in the bmw was all over the place in the corners i had to back off because i didnt want my beutifull paint to get hurt.i find my golf r such a pleasure to drive. i like it better than my last golf mk5 diesel too.in the main of things bmws are not bad but in my opinion the m140i needs better suspension into bumpy road corners.

They should make the hatchbacks and Granturismo Bmws a series of there own, like the 3 n 4 series. And tf is up with these pseudo M cars? Either make it n M or don't, The add hound do what Audi does, The have the A4 then S4 then RS4, example BMW should do a 140i then instead of an pseudo M like this make it n N1, N being below Mariah, then n M1 etc

Few years ago I would have thought it was absurd to have 3 liter twin turbo 350 horse engine in a compact like this.. But today we have things like A45 AMG and suddenly this seems like no big deal...
