for people who can afford this car.... they don't care about price, they'd pay any price for the car they desire

User avatar

Chanante  6m ago

Umm 27ps more. Other paint and cost more than a 488, Huracan or 650S ... its a joke?

User avatar

saxy  6m ago

Huracan and 650s, yes. But you can't buy a 488 at this price. You just can't, unless you wait till 2 years later

User avatar

jeremy  6m ago

did i mention the standard turbo s is already faster than the huracan?

User avatar

Fastedee  6m ago @jeremy

The Performante and this cars numbers are conservative factory ones. The Performante will be faster than this above 70 mph and the majority of tracks. ...just like the 610 is over the Turbo S facelift.

User avatar

cosimo  6m ago

when 911 sales starts to flop they come out with a limited edition must get now series lol

poor vw strategy, they are suffering with performante orders and now pushing this pos which is hardly worth $50 over the turbo s, not that it's worth 205k.

how much are they planning to charge for the gt2 rs ? 300k ? lol

User avatar

FastestLaps  6m ago

911 sales are flopping? I find that hard to believe. As far as GT RS - they will sell that car at whatever price they choose. Some people will be offended but those will mostly be ones who cannot and will not afford the car anyway.

User avatar

BR2+  6m ago @FastestLaps

Yea, Whenever a new model comes out they always tend to sell good n quick, But you would be a fool to pay 60k more for this

User avatar

cosimo  6m ago @FastestLaps

it will only sell to those exclusive idiots that fell for the 918 with half assed performance + hybrid with continuous recalls up to this date lolololol

User avatar

Fastedee  6m ago @cosimo

If 0-60 in 2.4 is half assed then full assed would be Crazytown.

User avatar

Fastedee  6m ago @FastestLaps

Exactly.

User avatar

Porsche is very independent of VW and their trickery if nominally owned by them.

User avatar

saxy  6m ago

I find it refreshing to see a more interesting color on a Porsche. Sure Mclaren makes a lot of "500" limited edition cars, but 27hp and some "exclusive edition" badges shouldn't make the car worth 260k euros suddenly.

User avatar

BR2+  6m ago

Hell no it shouldnt, You can get that same aero kit for 5,000 quid, Along with a similar color paint job, Not to mentioned exposed carbon fiber, And similar luggage, The only thing you cant get are those rims, Which are beyond ugly, And an extra 30bhp, Which wont really do anything, 260k? There outta there bloody minds with that Bs, Might as well put this with the M4 GTS...

User avatar

saxy  6m ago @BR2+

Not really. Ferrari would charge you $30,000 for just a paint job.

User avatar

BR2+  6m ago @saxy

That's for sure.....But then again Porsche charges 64k for a damned paint job...Either way it's a waste on either end, Just on paint jobs, Benz runs you 13k for a paint job on a GTS, He'll even Dodge charges 7k for damn strips on a Viper

User avatar

saxy  6m ago @BR2+

Be serious, there's more going on than a paint job. Different wing, wheels, engine power, trim... a 488 would cost you $100k in just visual options with no performance boost at all. 10k for a camera, 6K for some dash LEDs, etc.

User avatar

BR2+  6m ago @saxy

I never said it was just a paint job, New color scheme, New rims, An aero kit including front bumper, Rear bumper, Side skirts, rear diffuser, spoiler, 30bhp n lb ft more, new gearing, custom color interior with matching luggage, And you get some kind of special watch valued at 10k, That luggage is 6k, You can't tell me all that stuff is worth almost 70k over a normal Turbo S. And yes you can put over 100k in options on a 488 with no performance upgrades other then a few kg in weight savings

User avatar

Fastedee  6m ago @BR2+

Would look great on some West Highland road.

User avatar

Fastedee  6m ago @BR2+

Only if the front end scrapes on everything over 2mm and the ride shatters your teeth and spine can it be as good as the M4 GTS.

User avatar

DrDuke  6m ago @saxy

Saxy stop talking nonsense. If you were ever on the ferrari 488 configurator you would know that there are no performance options for a 488. The only options are a optical stuff and things like a reversing camera.

Selling empty cars is a german habit and they do it to be competitive with the other manufacturers. When the german cars have the same equipment they are normaly more expensive than their rivals. This 911 is just a rip off.

User avatar

BR2+  6m ago @DrDuke

Both yes and no, Technically there arent...Unless you count weight savings options, Like the loads of carbon fiber options one can pick, If you were to choose EVERY carbon option, AT max you would prolly save no more then 22kg at most, So technical that can be considered a performance option if we were to really look at it, Theres also the rims, The rims themselves can both shave weight, Add or worsen aerodynamic property's, Add or worsen the cooling property of the brakes, But other then 2 different sets of tyres, And i think brake options, There are barely any performance options, If were to get extreme about it, Which is actually surprising on a 488.

And yes i also agree, This 911 is a rip off.

User avatar

saxy  6m ago @DrDuke

Lol dude you just said the options on the 488 don't do shit to help performance yet easily cost $100+k, like the ridiculous Ferrari shield badge. And yet you then follow up and say the 911 therefore is a rip off. Hahaha. I understand you can't afford one but you're pulling quite the double standard

User avatar

saxy  6m ago @BR2+

Most supercars are rip offs unless you factor speculation value. They are luxury items and are meant to have large profit margins. Tell that to every European luxury brand, Hermes, Gucci, LV...

User avatar

BR2+  6m ago @saxy

I agree, A SuperCar more value then a house? Dont think so, For what any car actually costs to build, For most its not anywhere near its as listed price tag, And that goes for everything on it, But given this Turbos 70k price in absurdity's, And 100k+ in mostly carbon options on a 488, Theres no way in hell those are worth more then a fully loaded GLA45, Or even an STI in my book. The price of cars are getting insane in todays world, Doesnt matter if its supercars or not, Hell i remember in the 60s when even a kid straight outta highschool working at a minimum wage job could afford a good car, Now? Forget about it.

User avatar

saxy  6m ago @BR2+

Minimum wage could never afford you a NEW good car. A used one yes. Someone nowadays with just high school education can work in trades and earn a very decent living. Just not at mcdonalds.

User avatar

BR2+  6m ago @saxy

It all depends on various factors, Such as the wage itself, How many hours your getting, How much the car itself is, Payment plans, Your other expenses etc, That applys to every job, Not too mention which market you are in, So it all depends, So to say one can never afford a new good car on minimum wage is a he'll of a stretch

Excuse me but that paintwork just screams "RUF RT12 from yester-decade". Why not be more creative, Porsche?
