**Porsche 911 GT3 RS The tyre is a Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 lifted directly from the 918 Spyder.... I would say the tyre is 20 per cent sticker than the GT3ā€™s tyre....

if they really helped the manufacturers would have them on their race cars.

huh? all 3 of these manufacturers have hybrid engines in their race cars.

If you want to compare cars with and without hybrid engines. The Super GT500 GTR which now uses a turbo 2.0L + hybrid engine, is miles ahead of any petrol only GT3 or GTE car. In fact it's as fast as the Audi LMP1 hybrid, the most recent lemans prototype winner.

The 918 can achieve its performance without those pesky electric motors. They are there to show the enviromental side of Porsche, nothing more. The P1 has no need for such gimmics. if they really helped the manufacturers would have them on their race cars.

Completely agree dddd but on paper, according to Ferrari, the LaFerrari would have out-accelerated the Ducati 1199SL up 150mph in that race Autocar did.

In my opinion Laferrari and P1 are realy close in terms of straight line acceleration. They have similiar weight and im pretty sure that P1's petrol engine is underrated. So these cars also should have practically the same powers level.

Saxy - 918 had plenty of laps. WP is only 1% lighter than the car they tested.

Then suddenly there's the 918 braking hard for Turn 11, tucking around the corner and then past us, its vertical exhaust pipes screaming, up and up and over the hill leading into Turn 1. Pobst is flat on the throttle at more than 150 mph. He pulls in a few times for tire pressure adjustments and to give feedback to the two Porsche reps present.

dddd - The LaFerrari has never been convincingly faster than a P1 in any run.

They said 950hp and 1360kg (kerb), 1255kg (dry). I make that 700hp/ton. That big a difference would show up even from a speedo run.Even the manual says 1490kg, but the scales say about 1600kg.

I dont think that Laferrari weighs 1600 kgs. Could be wrong though.

The fact is that customers Ferrari 599s and 458s perform on advrtised level. There is multitude of good roll drag races movies where 458 wins with R8 V10, SLS AMG , 530-550 hp GTR etc. Ofcourse 458 Italia Road and Track edition is a different story( yes i know what i wrote about F12 but 599s and 458s seem to be better when we talk about claimed figures).

What about Laferrari ? The speedo shows that this car should have claimed power. Ofcourse the speedo acceleration measure isnt accurate.

We all know that the worst thing is that Ferrari says their own customers what they can and cant do with their cars. Its so crazy.

Imo the best car (overall) of the big three is a Porsche 918. It should be the fastest on most tracks and for sure is as fast as it is claimed.

I used to think that Laferrari will be definitely the fastest on tracks and in straight line but now i dont know.

I'm interested to know how fast the Porsche would have been if it were the W-pack version, and given more laps

...I dont think they ever claimed it had 700Bhp Per Ton, As for the 950, If anything its more, I doubt its less, And we all know there are VERY FEW companys that actually claim the correct weight of there car, If not by a FEW kilos, Plus most of the time, Atleast when Europe is in, Its the dry weight, Not the actual weight. And again, There hasnt been a test of it so we cant say for sure, Just going off speedos means nothing.

Saxy - This first video shows the owner of the P1 driving at Laguna, notice squirming under braking.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f00S5I8dGSg

This video shows another P1 being lapped by a customer at Dunsfold, notice absence of squirming under braking despite worse surface of airfield.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6KZdM8WSiQY

BR2 - Check the videos below. The LaFerrari just doesn't have the 950hp and 700hp/ton it claims. It also claims 9.6s@157mph in the quarter and 15.0s 0-300kph, yet in every video it appears slower than the P1 and never a lot faster, as per the claimed performance.

BR2+  3y ago

I dunno if its faster or not, Ferrari wont let anybody test the damn thing so all we can do is guess. But my guess is when the LaFerrari gets tested(If) I think it will be the fastest in acceleration, I dunno round a track.

Plus damn near all claims are just conservative numbers, And almost all testers beat them. I dunno what Ferrari has claimed, But i doubt the P1 is faster, Thats just my guess.

User avatar

saxy  3y ago

Hahahahha. Yeah just like when top gear tested it too. The P1 is the fastest car in the world. It just glitches every time it is tested.

This is too awesome loving this so much. The P1 is an amazing car but it boasts some ridiculous fanboys. Stop posting a comparison between 2 different cars on a laptime of the 918. Jeez

User avatar

sroser  3y ago

At the moment there's actually some rumours that the P1 they tested may have had an ABS glitch.

BR2 - I'm yet to see one video on YouTube showing the LaFerrari to be decisively faster over any speed interval, or even as fast. Now the P1's speedo isn't that inaccurate, only a few mph out at 200mph, and there's nothing to say the LaFerrari doesn't over-read a little too (in fact it must be over-reading by at least 6mph in this case, so all square). So unless the wind always blows with the P1 and against the LaFerrari, all Ferrari's acceleration claims are pure BS. Where is the extra 100hp/ton and extra 47hp? I looked long and hard for them but I can't find them. It wouldn't surprise me if the FXXK struggled to match the quoted times.

In these videos it's 1s slower 150-180mph (5s vs 6s) and 150-190mph (8s vs 9s) (2up in both cars, 1 gear change for both 5th-6th).

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oGJqQN8ZJds

In this video it's slower 0-224kph and 50-224mph (1up in each car)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VryV2thfXI8

Highest speed at Vmax - 209mph (P1) vs 207mph (LaFerrari) (1up in both)

..If that is the case, Ill have somebody, Another Ferrari collector buy one in my stead, Or ill just buy one when one of the "Chosen Ones' Has theres up for sale, But if that was the case, Id do no more business with Ferrari, Thats a huge kick to the face to any Ferrari owner/fan.

@ddd
Not really, It already has more then enough, And cars today produce more or less Bhp, And in Ferraris case, Id definitely say more. How many people actually dyno there LaFerrari?..

But again, Ill be damned if a company tells me what i can and cant do with MY OWN CAR! If i was offering my LaFerrari to top Gear, Or any publicized maazin or program, And Ferrari immediately threatened e with this banning bullshite, I would IMMEDIATELY call them up, Tell them blow it out there own Arse, And give MY car to the ones testing it, Thats a huge no in my book, Id send it to multiple publications, No suped up pres car bullshit. Hell if anyone wanted my current R34 or RX7 id be more then glad to give it to them.

User avatar

I'll be damned if I spend millions on a car, And that company tells me what I can and can't do with my car, I payed for it, It's my car, I'll do wtf I want with it. ~To Ferrari

I concur. But wont you be disappointed if you car has for example 863 hp instead of 963hp ? Mayby it will be better not to know...I used to love Ferrari and Ferrari cars but now i dont know.
You know well that something is fishy with that...

Well done on both accounts. The 918 and P1 appear to be more or less evenly matched.

My sentiments exactly BR2+
And if I'm barred from purchasing future Ferrari hyper-cars, I'll simply wait a couple of months for those who sell them on for profit. If I can afford to spend £1 million on a car, I can certainly afford a little more on top.

Or I could just give Horacio Pagani a call..
