Definitely not, But does have SuperCar performance. But i think SportsSedan is more of an understatement, I thik thats more akin to an Evo X. But i get it

335i Coupe competition

335i is not a supercar in the least, although the motor has great potential and with the DCT you can get a lot of the amenities of a higher class car for less money. Honestly I wouldn't even consider the M3 a supercar. A GTR or an R8 are supercars....and my criteria is that I can't afford those hahaha.
keith 12y ago
2007 350z with the vq35hr motor pushing out 313hp is just as fast on the 1/4 mile.
GJ 14y ago
Own one for 2 months now and took it for a test drive in Germany recently.. amazing how easily this one reaches its top speed.. simply brutal performance.. and then you just shift down and take mom for a leisure cruise.. love the both faces
wtfss 14y ago
it's ridiculous that e90 335i is faster than e92 wtf same weight same engine better aerodynamics i just couldn't get it
Big Chick 15y ago
I say to all the people that if you think that it's a fanastic car.Your wrong. All I say is that it's a BM.
Dee 15y ago
335i is not slow, tuned they put out 400wrhp and most of us Audi guys wont play, that is until we get a tune. LSD, and a few tweaks and could be something on the track we should all be worried.
M1 16y ago
Plenty of 335i with bolt ons and a tune will lick the new M3.
Have a look at Burger Motorsports or Vishnu for tune ideas.
$500 tune, no cats and an air filters will see 370whp easily.
Add some methanol/water injection and 450 on good gas is easy and many are already doing it :)
Yaspaa 16y ago
I havn't seen any turbo kits for the new one yet but there are loads for the previous M3, some of them give ballistic, over the top really power figures.
nitrostreet 16y ago
The gearing would help from a dead stop, but it's going to hurt mileage and top speed, you could start with the basic hop-up stuff like headers and free flowing exhaust, less restrictive air cleaner (like K&N). then maybe step up to ported heads, cam, ect.
These relatively simple mods usually make good HP, don't think that you have to have a turbo or something expensive like that to make more HP, although if you're looking for massive gains in HP that would be the way to go.
There are magazines and sites dedicated to BMW performance all over, just do some research.

The stock V8 doesn't seem to have that much torque, surely its possible to get more torque out of the 335 for alot less than £15000?
Maybe change the diff to get better gearing?
Yaspaa 16y ago
It just depends on what you want I think. The revvy V8 or the torquey turbo'd straight-6.
That 380bhp conversion costs £15000!!! so it costs the same as an M3.
I think the milder factory option is the more sensible choice, warranty intact.
nitrostreet 16y ago
It's in the territory of stock V8's, remember the V8 can also be cranked up.
ky 16y ago
Interesting, they've got 420bhp with some bolt ons and programming and they say it goes as well as the old M3 without all the reving etc. 420bhp is V8 territory.
Yaspaa 16y ago
I think Georg is a better person to ask for that. 500ft/lbs does seem a lot.
420bhp kit here.

That last anonymous--Two turbos etc was me, I forgot to put my name. What do you think Yaspaa? The transmission would probably take it.
Anonymous 16y ago
I was just thinking, Two turbos on that block with good headers and exhaust--I recon you could get 500lbs torque plus 500bhp. Do you think the crank would take it?
ky 16y ago
Yea, shut up. I seem to remember I was refering to a V8 M3 (read the f---ing question dick head,--I wont tell you again!) You must have been f---ing awful at skool.
I really agree with you Yaspaa, the straight sixes are the best, the balancing can be got perfect
Anonymous 16y ago
Yeah, why Wouldnt you think the 335 couldnt be Made to go faster than the E92 M3?
Anonymous 16y ago
you really are stupid, name me 1 car that cant be built to go faster than an M3.
