what you just said is nonsense. Every car is enjoyable to be a sportscar whether it has 10 horsepower or 1000. you can get from point A to B. Speed is only a feeling...

Have you heard of standard deviations? When 1 out of 1000 people have a different opinion, it is simply ignored in the conclusion.

Yes in any car, Comfort is to what YOU make of it.

Excluding how many people you can carry, You can do ALL of what you have said in any car(Given they have a boot, or just plain space), Its all how you go about it, I see people getting there grocerys in the winter time in SR3s and Atoms, That is certainly Not a rare site here, Not at all, And those cars are in no way shape or form built for comfort. Comfort=Comfortable, Some people may not think a Radical is comfortable, That's a reason they don't get it, Others do. Comfort is a subjective as a cars look.

It may be a nightmare to do all those things you listed to most people, But that's the Key word, "Most People"..Not all. Id rather go in an M3 hands down, But ive been able to do that stuff I mentioned in an Atom with no problems before.

A super low ride supercar has to crawl over bumps, absolute nightmare in tight little streets, and can't get into parkades nor carry any of the things you want, and definitely not your friends. Worst is having a manual stuck in traffic.

An M3. you can sit 4 people with 4 doors. You have a boot to put stuff, aircon, satnav, cupholders, stereo, iphone connectivity, auto trans, nice V8, and you can just run over bumps and go park your car like any small saloon car.


Right. In the "real world" an M3 will get you around town way faster than any supercar will.

There retarded if they do that, Keep the 3Series, just add a 4Series together with the 1/5/6/7 Series, don't see why not, just make it differently shaped like the GranTurismo Models, forget a GT model of the 5/6/3, Just make the GT cars the 4 Series cars.

An M3 is an M3, Not an M4, that's fkn retarded, Might as well call a Porsche 911 a Porsche Boxster.

I've test driven both of them, (well almost, the Shelby I've driven was 2008, but I guess there is no much difference to the 2010), and I can say some things. Shelby is a heavy car, it is not too much agile, it is pretty rough, and you have to be a pro to move this thing through corners really fast, but you can predict the car's actions. Shelby is, of course, perfect for the drag strip, and can make some spectacular burnouts. BMW is more precise, it is easier to control. The car I've driven was with dual-clutch tranny. To be honest, I'm not a big fan of such gearbox, but I tell you, I was so much excited behind the steering wheel of that Bimmer! Not as fun as in Shelby though. The BMW's gear change is a blast. And at the drag race, accelerating the M3, I felt it actually was not slower than the Shelby, but faster! Both cars are thrilling, you won't get bored, and you won't regret, if you drove both cars, I tell you. So BMW is good for performance and girls are yours, while Shelby is more for soul, and everyone consider you a reckless car enthusiast.

But all depends on what you're looking for, on what purpose do you want to own one of these cars. Because outside the track ride quality, service, mileage, practicality etc. really matters, and you have to keep that in mind! Actually, the only I can advise here is that Shelby is not nearly a car for family, or for petrol economy. But BMW's service is just a nightmare! I mean, the parts are pretty much expensive.

@Giuliano I have driven the E92 BMW M3, and my nephew's Shelby GT500, and until recently I owned a Mustang GT 5.0. As to which I recommend, it kinda depends on a few things. All three have excellent performance, but there are differences. The Shelby six speed transmission has a heavy clutch, and shifter movement, but the Tremec transmission is very durable. The shifters in both the M3 and Mustang 5.0 are lighter and more slick in movement, but not as durable. The Mustang 5.0 transmission in particular tends to have synchronizers that don't work properly until warm, and some binding when shifting while cornering, while I have read of some second gear issues with the BMW from their forums. The Shelby is built more durably, but suffers from excessive front weight, and not enough grip coming out of corners. Heat soak and such can lose some power on multiple laps with the Shelby. The Nissan 370Z has lots of problems in multiple lap situations, so that isn't a car I would suggest for endurance racing either. So it kinda depends on what you expect to do with the car. Still, M3 has such combination of qualities that many other cars of the same class, or of near performance don't have. M3 is like Jack of all trades. And as you can it's one of most beloved German performance car for decades.

i disagree.
other cars are great in one thing while the m3 is more of an allround car which is good at a lot of things, but thats it.

there isnt a single category where it is the best

The M3 E92 DCT is epic ... no other car is so easy to use as a daily driver and then so good on the track. Other cars do some things well the M3 does EVERYTHING well. It amazes me every day.
