depending on outside temperature and alititude, the mph can be higher in cold weather and 1/4 et much slower due to hot temp

It's sad that not every car gets tested around the Nordschleife. This is one of the main reasons why I compute 12.8-mile north loop results for all cars based on HPWizard measurements, including weight with driver, computer-measured power output, and other attributions.

With a twin-turbocharged engine displacement of 3.6 liters, this car slotted between two of its fellow RWD sports sedans, the BMW M3 (3.0L) and the Mercedes-AMG C63/S (4.0L). It's also faster than the Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat around most tracks, if not all of them.

Bad news for this car!
In 2019 Cadillac will end the production of ATS and there will be no sucessor. Cadillac give up on the compact luxury car (premium mid size category in Europe) category. Sales were abysmal, only 13100 (!) were sold in the entire US in 2017 counting all variants. For comparison 99000 BMW 3 series were sold at the same time in the US.

wtf are you talking about?

I know that there's a difference between the auto and the auto (I bought the auto) but I haven't seen anything higher then 116 except that 122 of c & d. Motor trend got 116 with automatic. I'll be glad if you'll be able to post links to tests were the ats-v did more than 116.
Anyhow, I read something interesting lately. Dynoing the ats-v got a result of 131 ps (out of 470) and same test to the M3 gave 127 ps (out of 131). That, indeed, can explain how can the M3 be faster in some tests.

Only problem with that, Is this car is available with a 6 speed manual and an 8 speed auto, And that auto, Is obviously much faster then a manual, Hence why the times differ from 12.4@117/12.0@122 8-Speed vs to 12.6@114/12.3@118 6-Speed, Slowest to fastest, 122 was published by MotorTrend, They dont just make up numbers, Even an auto car will have differences, And that is contributed to drivers, Conditions, Setup and load, Theres ALWAYS gonna be one fastest time.

If there were only two tests, one of 122 MPH and one of 116 MPH, I can agree with your answer of "different tests" but one did 122 and at least other 10 did 114-116, something sounds fishy and don't get me wrong, I wish the 122 MPH is a real number as I'm getting my in July :-)

Talking about both, Different tests on the V, And i cannot update the site to my standards, So.

User avatar

kingikra  9y ago

Oh. I thought you were talking about the ATS-V. You talked about updating this site in general.

User avatar

BR2+  9y ago

Nobody has to own one to no what a car does in a performance test LOL

User avatar

kingikra  9y ago

And you know that because you own one?
I think that if the M3 does 13.5 to 200 kph, ats-v should do better.

User avatar

BR2+  9y ago

....................Different tests, For the most part updating still isnt the best here, Nor the fastest, Theres still ALOT to be updated.

User avatar

kingikra  9y ago

how come 122.4 mph in 12.1 seconds and 200 kph (124 mph) in 14.5?

User avatar

uptownfunker  9y ago

The ATS-V beats all of its listed (above) rivals! In my humble opinion, with the exception of exotic sports and limited-production cars, competitors should be listed by decade, generation, size AND power-to-weight ratio (ATS-V competition includes: the BMW F80 M3, the Mercedes-Benz W205 AMG C63S).

User avatar

Flabernat  9y ago

It's insane what kind of performance numbers luxury sedans can make these days! 0_0

User avatar

phavyarden  9y ago

The sedan car tested was an automatic one. Gearbox that in nowadays are definetly quicker than the manual one for straight line performance.

User avatar

uptownfunker  9y ago

Oops, the MKS competes with the XTS. oh crap

User avatar

uptownfunker  9y ago

Now this is the GM equivalent to the Dodge Charger Scat Pack/SRT 392 and Lincoln MKS EcoBoost (most likely the latter because of the twin-turbo DOHC V-6).

I can't ever believe this variant is faster than the coupe variant!
