The Alfa is definitely the leading performance benchmark. Its company certainly isn't. FCA is now just worth 12Bill? That's less than half of Hyundai or 1/4 of Ford

"won" oh yeah! just like ferrari, sometimes they say the car looks nice, it tingles your senses, there is an "i do not know what" that feels good, all that it is "unmeasurable" and subjective. but when it comes down to numbers, measurable performance, interior trim, quality, italian cars are always shown to be unfit by german magazines...really?

back in the days there was von saurma playing his game in driving ferraris 10 secs slower than porsches and then claiming there was something he liked in ferraris anyhow...lol alfa won

Most importantly, Alfa won huge praise in Grand Tour show - world's biggest and most influential automotive media channel.

And that praise was real. There is no way Alfa's advertising budged is large enough to "sway" Jeremy Clarkson's opinions.

LOL

Just a reminder: the Alfa won the comparison in Sport Auto :D

That's because Sport Auto tested the manual-version, and the shift quality of it is not the highest...

it does not matter: if a manufacturer claims 3.9 it ought to be 3.9 with whatever transmission. while i have no reason to doubt about alfa claims, german press in general (sport auto, AMuS in particular) still have to prove they can do one, and i restate "one", mildly unbiased car test involving a german's car competitor. it is simply out of their reach
