I saw one of these R8 coupes driving on a Dublin road.
Gosh! The car was a 2009 model.
But it still looked extremely clean with no dinges whatsoever despite its age.
It's sad that all R8 car production is soon to come to and end - probably before the end of 2024.

I wonder why don't they make a V8 version of the current R8

I have a hard time considering the early models (or other non-top tier R8 models) as supercars.

I drove one in 2010 iirc it was very very good but the v10 is superior

I like R8s and you can get one of these older V8 versions for less than 40.000 €.
(unfortunately, the V10 models are much more expensive...)

new laptime for the R8 on rudskogen, however rudskogen has changed which means your gonna have to chanhe the already existing rudskogen to pre-2012 and create a new one for post-2012

Very good car here in europe to hunt it in used cars market. Car is few years on sales, and there is possibility to find cars with 30.000-60.000 km droven, with a lot of options on it, and about 30% of sale price.

Mid engined, more fun than traction oriented AWD system, Lambo based, looks and feels like super car.

Ofcourse its risky to buy one of those, but it still in a price of good equiped Audi A3 and other semi-premium cars.

Its more than fast enough in real life. If someone want more speed, i dont know what for it would be on public road?

This lap time screws up any comparisons made on this website to other cars. I personally don't think Wet times should be factored in. I guess it is more of a programming issue, but if it is a programming issue, maybe wet times shouldn't be posted?

how the heck R8 V10 broek during the race? it has the lambo engine with an ECU restrictor for RPM..LOL

is there anything wrong in silverstone laptime ?

As I mentioned in my latest article, Audi R8 V10 technically broke down during the race. I don't know whether or not it was running 100% well during time attack before the race. R8 V10 laptime is from time attack because it did not complete a single lap in race.

sorry that can´t be right... Hockenheim is a similar short track with the same amount of slow and fast turns and only short straight ... there the V10 owns the V8 with two seconds both cars were equipped there with the same tires.. at no other track the V8 beats the V10

Incredible Tsukuba laptime for R8 4.2! Faster than V10 and faster than LP-560. Car seems to be ideally suited for the track and the driver did an awesome job as well. It kept up with Shadow GT-R and LP-560 during the whole race.

The Silverstone laptime was done by car magazine in a stock car compare...

There was another laptime recently added that was fake.
