@Bpe
It should be noted that, while it is street legal, the Nitto NT555R that the Super Snake comes with is a drag radial. One of the best on the market, in fact(and I'm not just saying that because I've bought a couple pairs). And the Super Snake needs them, because there's no "normal" high-performance tire around that can handle that kind of power and torque all going through the rear wheels, I don't care how much glue is on the strip.

LOL someone who added the Grattan raceway lap, made what I would think is the most common mistake, the adams motorsports time should be deleted
11 months ago
Groovy, I will mention it in a post if I see anything that could be fake, or bogus. Most of the lap times seem to be good now.

I try to make order. As you can see some discrepancy, write.

To the Admin who deleted the fake Nordschleife lap time: Thanks!!

Yes and yes! It wasnt long ago I worried we had seen the last of the muscle car wars when the camaro/trans-am got taken out of production.

Now even the base model V6 versions are impressive compared to cars of 10 years ago. GM/Ford have really stepped up their game in the past years.

I applaud this car.

Ford went all out in several categories and they built the car for 'every' consumer. Just want a seriously powerful cruiser? Buy the base version. Want an overweight track monster that will likely kill you? Get the track package. Ford really went over the top this time.

I don't care if it's a Ford or a Chevrolet either. The competition between the camaro and mustang is just leading to better and better cars. The consumer wins in the end. Let the horsepower wars wage on.

@FuckFastestlaps, wrong. The GT500s turning these times are in the low 60s. The SVT track pack ALONE cost 3000 on top of the 54k. A 54 GT500 without the SVT track pack would fall flat on its face against the ZL1....and the brakes are still shit

I agree, I think it is fake.

Nurburgring time is most likely fake. Googled the time and couldnt find a source anywhere.

So okay who added the Nordschleife time? I am pleased to have it, but is it legit? I know Ford tested at the Nordschleife, but I haven't heard of a lap time before. I also know that the lighter weight Shelby GT500 has enough extra power to match or beat the Camaro ZL1 and its suspension superiority, yet I am still skeptical about this time. Nine seconds faster than the ZL1? Where did this time come from, what's the source?

looks great besides the stupid rally stripes

@Viking
Now everyone knows why Ford chose the Nardo ring out in Italy. Here in the states, we just dont have a track with a long enough straight.

In C/Ds defense it could be that the GT500 wasn't fully broken in yet. For some unknown reason Mustang engines take forever to break in and develop full horsepower. For example: from dynojet chassis testing it seems Mustang GT 5.0 models with less than 2k miles only put out 363 to 367 rear wheel hp, but after 7k miles have 373 to 377 rear wheel hp. An increase of 10 horsepower at the wheels. 363/367 at the wheels is 11-12 percent loss from 412 crank hp.

As expected my issue of Car and Driver came in the mail today. I haven't finished reading it yet, since my dad keeps picking it up and reading it himself. From what I have read so far though, it seems that the particular Shelby GT500 that Car and Driver tested was down on power. It certainly still performed rather well. However, it didn't do well for top speed, or on the chassis dyno. C/D figures a 15 percent loss to the wheels is okay, but we all know that with a live rear axle, it should only lose 11 or 12 percent. So it seems that that car wasn't putting out its full complement of horses.

Its such a hard comparison to chose from, ZL1 or GT500, I dont care how fast one is, nor Interior quality, As for looks, there "About" the same, Such an Extremely hard choice to chose.
