Haha the comments on here didn't age well

PLEASE read the facts before posting (very) wrong comments about the range guys!

RANGE is 253 miles per charge (EPA) for the P85D (powerful, dual-motor version)!
Easily enough for normal commuting.

User avatar

Shaggy  10y ago

It's range is like 50 or so miles on a single charge.

100k for something that Looks like a Mazda and will make you stuck somewhere on a Highway. I also don't care about the acceleration in this case as this car doesn't handle well. 3 sec 0-60 applies only when battery is fully charged. If not a Focus RS will make this utopic car look like a snail..

User avatar

Iggz  10y ago

@ Jackson I totally agree with you here. I saw a few tests where initially at full recharge Computer indicated a range of 500 miles and finally when pushing the tesla to go 200km/h on the Highway the testers only managed to last 80 miles. It's like communism, the idea is great but doesn't work in practice. I wouldn't lay down 100k for an idea. This car LOVES traffic jams though !

2.8 sounds a little extreme but 10.8 sounds even more impossible.

User avatar

BR2+  10y ago

Yes and it is stupid, All you here about a game changing car is how fast it goes to 60 rather then what its really intended for.

New update on P85D or P90D for Ludicrous mode, 0-60 in 2.8 and 1/4 mile in 10.8

User avatar

Range at 150 mph (not unusual travel speed) on german Autobahn approximately 40 miles but can't go 40 miles with 150 mph, because the car reduces the power to approximately 120 mph to avoid battery overheating. Car or a kind of vehicle?

TEsla 0-200??

User avatar

DDriver  10y ago

Finally had a chance to drive this one. All other Teslas are shit compare to this one. Any other car is nothing compare to this one. At any road legal speeds it's hard to imagine what car can have more push than this one. "P85D is the future"

...When is 700Bhp not guilt free?

User avatar

FastestLaps  11y ago

saxy, aren't Tesla promising to feed fast chargers from solar cells? Of course, this will be problematic for many places where there is little sunshine. But it will certainly reduce the carbon footprint in a major way. So much so that guilt-free 700 hp will be possible.

"Cool" is subjective and none of us is wrong.

But for me, a desirable electric car with no compromises AND huge acceleration will always be cooler. Everything else just seems obsolete.

User avatar

saxy  11y ago

The tesla is cool in a different way. But I also find the car confusing. Electric car for the sake of being environmental but still that power comes from other sources that still have harm to the environment, so the need for bigger batteries and a bigger power is contrary to point.

I DO like the ultra fast charge stations, and unlimited battery guaranteed

BR2+  11y ago

As far as "Cool' Goes, Id say these 4 knock the Tesla WAY out as far as Cool goes.

550x800m

550x800m

550x800m

Take these cars up to any 14 year old and ask which is cooler, Model S is an Awesome car, But i dont think 'Cool" is the right word id use for it, doesnt make you go "Oh my god look at that thats so cooooolll"...

User avatar

FastestLaps  11y ago

BR, show me a cooler car then (south of million dollars)

User avatar

FastestLaps  11y ago

No supercar has acceleration latency like the electric car has. Think about ninja-quick overtakes...

0 to 1000 Nm in split second.

User avatar

saxy  11y ago

NA, no matter how much torque it'll still be limited to its tire grip. It won't be more vicious than supercar launch control

User avatar

BR2+  11y ago

...Not sure id say coolest...

User avatar

FastestLaps  11y ago

The coolest car (yet to be) on market right now. This thing will probably break your neck if you stomp on accelerator too quick.

With full charge, provided there isn't some kind of throttle position software filtering or forced TC, this thing will deliver near 1000 nm instantly. There is no other car that can do this.

DDriver  11y ago

I was astonished by "regular P85", this one would feel fitted with hyper-drives

User avatar

FastestLaps  11y ago

Awesome car. Love it. And love new, disruptive companies like Tesla that upset the conventional order.

I couldn't put "dual engine".
A few of the other stats didn't "work" in the conventional way.
