I love Top Gear, it's entertaining, but I don't believe half the stuff they claim, the best way to watch it is to turn off your brain and enjoy.

@ N/A: AOL Autos is not a good source, but at least you weren't using the vimulator, that time would be so unrealistic, my niece would be able to tell that it's fake, and she's 8.

2.7 0-60 might be possible on a prepped drag strip. Those Corvette ZR1's running high-mid 10s are surely running 0-60 in the 2sec range.

But a 1/4 mile of 9.9 @ 126mph? Physically impossible. A trap speed like that puts the car firmly into mid-low 11's(though the GT-R manages to run high 10s at similar speeds). Busting into the 9s, the car would have to be pushing 140mph. To do that, the 599 would need 700+hp, a prepped strip, drag radials, about a half-ton diet and a nice tailwind.
