I guess he was hinting on Cadillac Twin Turbo with 1200 hp.
I think 35 seconds are not enough.
40-45 seconds to 300 km/h sounds more realistic to me.
Decent 0-100 time for that car is about 4,3-4,5 and 0-200 in about 13-14s.
There is no chance that this car is able to do 0-300 in 30s staying stock. Mayby 35-40s and it would be still very good result.
And 300 km/h on speedometer is not 300 km/h for real. It means about 280-290.
I can think of a sedan that can keep up with a Corvette ZR1 or Ferrari 458 Italia in acceleration... it also has a "Hennessey" badge on it ;)
Best is 3,88 s without Launch Control (AutoBild Sportscars).
Worst is 4,5 s with LC (French Sport Auto)
If "only" 4.3 why can the new RS6 same horse power and similar torque do it in 3.9? Is the new RS6 so much faster than than th enew M5?
thats still incredible fast

0-300 - 32,7 secs
@ hamcee: With all due respect, no 4 door sedan can keep up with a Corvette ZR1 or Ferrari 458 Italia in acceleration or top speed.
stop fantasizing
there are tons of recorded m5 owners times where they hit 0-300 in 30-35 seconds.
thats ZR1 and 458 italia territory.
I thing even RS6 will be faster on the straight line and on the track, as S6 is fatser than 550i as RS6 will be faster than M5.
1/4 for the S8 is 11.8, so the RS6 avant should be better.
my estimation is that the RS6 avant will beat M5 only for the 0-60 and maybe 1/4. at the high end speed I think that M5 will be better and also on the track.
Now the C7 RS6+ Sedan should be even faster. The RS6 Sedan and RS6 Avant will have 552 bhp and the RS6+ and RS6 Avant+ will have 608 bhp. My estimated for the RS6 Sedan and RS6 Avant+ will be 4147 lbs.
The RS6 sedan should be a high 11 second car, and the RS6+ Sedan should be a mid 11 second car.
Top speeds will be 155, 174, and 190+ depending on which version you get. The extra weight was the problem with the last RS6, but now the M5 has a real challenge on its hands.

You could also think of getting a M135ix, if they sell it in your country.
