I don't think people understand how freaking insane this thing looks in person. Literally only a few cars come even remotely close. A Koenigsegg One:1? Ferrari SP3 Daytona? Pagani Huayra R? And I think that's it. This will be a very hot take but even the P1 and LaFerrari aren't that visually appealing compared with the GT. The Ford GT beats literally everything in it's price range when it comes to looks.

Hello all.
It seems the last Ford GT has been delivered to a motor dealer in the US.(Michigan?)
Therefore there are very few brand new ones still up for sale.
And there is no word about a hybrid replacement.

Safe driving from Flt158.

I hate to be the one to say this, but I do not believe that the second generation GT will appreciate in value in the same way that the first generation one did.

The first model was a supercharged V8 competing successfully against most hypercars of its day. Basically the Ferrari SF90 Stradale and Chevy Corvette E-Ray of its day combined.

The second model was matched or beaten by cars costing between 1/5 and 3/5 of its MSRP even though it had a twin-turbo V6.

Here's another supercar for the chop: the Ford GT.
It will end production at some stage in 2023.
How sad!

The oil change is HOW much on a Ford GT?

Motortrend, Ford GT "spanks" Lamborghini Aventador SVJ and THEN it tries it on with the Bugatti Chiron Pur Sport in a decider race showoff!

Except NO Bugatti race! They'd BETTER bloody time it AND SHOW IT!🤦

Ford GT HOTLAPS at Laguna Seca PLUS apparently the McLaren Senna AND 765LT!🔥

Unlike the GT, its indirect successor will be a series-production super-GT

A special announcement from John Hennessey, quote>"HPE DOES NOT PLAN TO OFFER ANY PERFORMANCE UPGRADES FOR THE NEW FORD GT AT THIS TIME. IT DOES NOT HAPPEN OFTEN BUT SOME CARS ARE NOT MEANT TO BE MODIFIED. IN OUR HUMBLE OPINION, THE NEW FORD GT IS ONE OF THESE CARS."

Hennessey website.

🤔

John it's the one bloody car that DID NEED some electronic "enhancements?"

😂

The Ford GT can do 100-200MPH= 29 plus 0-100MPH= 6.2= 0-200MPH= 35.2 seconds!

Feel that Ecological Boost power!

The Ford GT's acceleration is the exact reason why engine inertia is important. If this car had produced the same power and even the same torque out of a larger engine — say, a 5.0-liter V-8 — that peak torque would start very early in the range. The problem with the EcoBoost engine is that it can't handle that much power and torque without a huge turbocharger, and that's what decreases the engine inertia and makes the car unstable. There is no replacement for displacement even when it comes to supercharging and turbocharging.

The previous Ford GT had a 5.4L supercharged V-8 and that car is not only already equally as fast as this one, but it makes more than the advertised 550 hp (only underrated so that it wouldn't officially touch the established Hypercar Big 3 of the time — CGT, McF1, and Enzo).

Disclosure: Drag coefficient, frontal area, and curb weight figures are estimates of my own; not copied from manufacturers or independent tests.

2005 Ford GT
Drag coefficient: 0.338 Cd
Frontal area: 19.40 sq. ft. (x1.2 for mirrors and ground clearance)
Curb weight: 3492 lb (+165 lb for driver)
Top speed: 211.89 mph (verified @Nardo)
= 545 rwhp (rounded up)

2017 Ford GT
Drag coefficient: 0.310 Cd
Frontal area: 19.63 sq. ft. (x1.2 for mirrors and ground clearance)
Curb weight: 3313 lb (+165 lb for driver)
Top speed: 213.xx mph (verified @JBPG; rounded up to 214 mph regardless)
= 520 rwhp (rounded up)

Ford GT: is a track oriented supercar for 500k to up to a million
Also Ford GT: is outmatched by a Ferrari on most tracks for half the price ;)

Just buy an MC20 if you want a fast and actually pretty V6 supercar

So the finest manufacturers in terms production portfolio from hatchbacks to hypercars are FORD and MERCEDES-BENZ. Leave your thoughts below>

@FastestLaps, is it fine if I add the "660hp" version? Besides the power add-on, everything appears to be the same...

Based on rumors they might be making a v8 send off edition

Also pulled the 60-186MPH or time off the Johnny Bohmer top speed Ford GT test. The display is a direct link to a GPS readout and the timings are off directly related YouTube counters. There could be variances.

60-186MPH= 22 seconds plus 3 seconds 0-60MPH= 0-300km/h= 25 seconds
0-200MPH worked out exactly the same way= 35 seconds

Etc.

I saw one of these in person a few months back. Absolutely stunning, one of the coolest looking and sexiest cars to come out in the past 5 years.
It’s the stance that’s cool too- this thing is insanely low, lower than any current road car I can think of. It’s also super wide, and the flying buttresses just make it look wider.

This car is not really a successor to the first gen Ford GT, it's more like a modern Jaguar XJ220 or Ferrari F40
