The Cup is owned by racing teams or rich people who collect those cars or drive them on the track.
Maybe you can also find some in racing schools.
you ???
like real race car"
REAL RACE CAR 911 DOESN'T HAVE ANY FUCKING STICK!
You understand now?!
as long as the normal gt3 and the gt3 rs have a manual, everything is alright
tho the GT RS series will do have manual
I think he mean the Porsche GT3 Cup (R).
i don'T know what you mean with "gt3 race car"
but this gt3 has a manual stick
even in this video you can see it
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ECATvlRf3ls
in the new gt3 you can also shift with the stick
like real race car
you must not use the automatic oder padles
Back in the days, there were always auto/manual options for performance cars just because auto trannys sucked but there were enough buyers who don't know how to drive but wanted particular car. Nowadays there is no benefits for manual transmissions to exist. Maybe a little weight savings, but who cares about the weight anyways.
The need for performance is getting VERY Critical, More so then ever, But that shouldnt stop them from atleast OFFERING an alternative manual transmission, But soon Porsche to will be gone with the manuals, To be honest, i cannot "Really" call a car a drivers car, or purists car of you will, a "Real" drivers car IMO, But maybe thats not there aim this time, maybe they dont care about involvement and overly enjoying the car, not saying a car without a manual cant be enjoyed, but maybe the pressure of performance is getting to alot of companys.
I dont think thats a right reason, or atleast not the reason i would think, Having an automated, or paddled gearbox you dont need to compete with the GT-R, the GT3 RS already does, with a manual, same with a ZO6, I do believe they want more performance while sacrificing a bit of involvement, (hence reason for a PDK only)
But would they really aim for a 458 since its been out for a few years now?
But if there aim is for the GT-R, i dont think theyll ever reach that goal, The GT3 is £25,000 More, or $36,000 More then a GTR, not too mention quite a bit Lighter, so unless they give there car a weight gain and a price drop, i dont think a goal like that will be garnered, Porsche has usually a bigger crowd of people its been at, but the GT-R fans are not lacking in numbers, same with the 458, but if its ONLY about performance, without anything else, then that goal can be done without a problem. But i dont thin Porsche is the type of company to do strictly that, or atleast they use to, i dunno anymore.
Rear wheel steering really sounds a bit strange.
(But I think the car would not be able to drive with that technology)
But i have heard of All-Wheel-Steering.
It was even planed in the 918 (read about it in AutoBild sportscars).
Nothing like GT 911s of past?
Porsche has to prove the laptime.
I'm quite sure Sport Auto will. We just have to wait for the Supertest. :)
This is a claim by Porsche itself, published in the latest issue of Sport Auto (04/2013).
I think it is able to finish the Nordschleife in under 7:30.
(If not it is the drivers falt)
But there is another question:
The time of the 2010 GT3 RS was 7:33.
The time of the new GT3 could be around 7:25.
With 7:25 it would bet the Carrera GT!
So,what the new GT3 RS would do?
It might bet the 7:14 of the 918!(I am not sure about that aspect, but it might work)
That would be amazing!
