wonder how much faster the trio would be over this...

User avatar

bob  4m

being held up under power is a HUGE disadvantage on lap time.
agreed on the power issue, over 220 the rs really starts to slow, I'm sure the enormous drag from that wing must have something to do with it...;)
the apex speed, turn in and traction are all superb however

Very fast lap! And it was held back by traffic in a couple spots too! But honestly, there really was a lack of grunt on the long straights. I'm surprised nobody has really done a full serious lap around Spa in the 3 hypercars

User avatar

bob  4m

can someone add the spa laptime
forgot reference

good laptime

Porsche 911 GT3 RS Tsukuba new record (i think in my previous message the video not play) from BEST MOTORING facebook:
Taking a break to share this quickly, recently, former Best Motoring host Akihiko Nakaya set a new record on Tsukuba with a stock Porsche 911 GT3 RS.
This lap is the second fastest lap for a production car (ever) with no aftermarket upgrades, behind the Radical SR4 1.2 (1:00.29).
Congratulations Nakaya-San!!.
The video with the timer will be shared again here. The lap time is around 1:00.7

I miss the "Slower Than" - "Faster Than" fields. I hope they bring these back after the BETA phase

Hover mouse over laptime and you will get something much better. :)

Oh, good! You good its competition section! Now it says "911 GT3, 911 Turbo S, GT-R Nismo." But it should actually say "Corvette Z06, Huracan LP610-4, GT-R Nismo."

User avatar

FastestLaps  1y

Well... yeah...

User avatar

I think racing rivals are just a bunch of random cars with the similar power/weight ratio.

User avatar

@FL: Please update this RS' rivals, they all seem to be from 10+ years ago. I think its rivals would be something like the BMW ///M6 Competition and the Nissan GT-R NISMO N-Attack; they all use 2+2 configurations and are made right now in the '10s.

I especially liked what the presenter said at 2:45 - "Laptimes are brilliant, aren't they? They are interesting."

If I were to guess a 0-300 kph (0-187 mph) time, it would be almost 42 seconds.

lmao. when the ef has that ever happened?

...It takes a whole page and all the writing for you to figure out the car can go quicker?...

User avatar

uptownfunker  1y

This car, with a 0-100 kph sprint-time of 3.3 s (0-60 mph in ~ 3.2 s) and a 0-200 time of 11.1 (0-120 mph in ~ 10.7 s), should be able to do the standing quartermile in much less than 11.6 seconds. More like 11.3. Maybe even quicker.

3.3 s+11.1 s/(3.3 s+11.1 s)*10 s=11.008 s

(3.3+11.1/(3.3+11.1)5)/(3.30.5+11.10.5)200=198.726 kph (123.483 mph)

...So with the calculated 11.0@123, the GT3RS should have a little all-w.-drive feeling into its launch (low ET at low trap speed). Like 80% RWD and 20% FWD up to about 50 mph, even though it's officially adveristed as rear-w.-drive.

Let me estimate the same with three of its competitors! Please note that I will not submit them into the database as facts (these estimates could also vary into gearing, driver, 0-300 kph, etc); these are only my own estimates and cannot be taken 100% seriously.

Ferrari F12 Berlinetta
ET: 3.0 s+8.8 s/(3.0 s+8.8 s)*10 s=10.457 s

Trap: (3.0+8.8/(3.0+8.8)5)/(3.00.5+8.80.5)200=228.095 kph (141.731 mph)

Nissan GT-R NISMO (R35)
ET: 3.4 s+11.2 s/(3.4 s+11.2 s)*10 s=11.071 s

Trap: (3.4+11.2/(3.4+11.2)5)/(3.40.5+11.20.5)200=198.236 kph (123.178 mph)

Corvette Z06 (C7)
ET: 3.2 s+10.2 s/(3.2 s+10.2 s)*10 s=10.811 s

Trap: (3.2+10.2/(3.2+10.2)5)/(3.20.5+10.20.5)200=209.133 kph (129.949 mph)

One of its competitors is just very slightly slower despite being a more powerful and of course heavier GT.

vvv

Of course AccelerationTimes has more accurate estimated distance sprint details, except there are only 862 vehicles published in that website, while much more popular FastestLaps has 4670 cars (and of course, a shipload of laptimes!).
